Rain and overcast skies Saturday threatened to delay the Great Tennessee Air Show over Smyrna, but demonstrations were scheduled to move ahead Saturday afternoon.
Performances would go on as scheduled if the skies cleared enough for safety.
Hundreds of spectators were finding seats on the tarmac Saturday, ready to see aircraft and military vehicles on the ground.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels precision flight demonstration team headlines the event.
The Blue Angels last appeared at the Great Tennessee Air Show in 2008.
The air show continues Sunday.
Adult tickets are $25 at the gate the day of the show. Children under four are free.
Premium Box Seating and Flight Line Club tickets are also available.
Free parking is available.
Sam Ridley Parkway approaching the Smyrna Airport will be closed to traffic from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
