Employees of the Tennessee State Capitol building will soon be relocated as the building undergoes a six month, multi-million dollar makeover.
The hundred or so employees of the building, including the governor, secretary of state, comptroller and treasurer will relocate to the nearby Tennessee Tower building.
During the renovation, crews will work to upgrade electrical work and plumbing that is several decades old, among other improvements.
“We have got electrical work from the 60s and plumbing from the 50s here,” State Treasurer David Lillard explained.
The updates are expected to take around six months.
