Metro police sex crimes detectives have charged a man who claims to be an El Salvadoran doctor with two counts of rape for sexually molesting a 37-year-old Murfreesboro woman who came to see him for back pain.
Metro police said the victim went to see Jose Orellana at his home in January after he helped her brother with a shoulder injury.
After massaging the victim's back, Orellana, 65, is alleged to have told the victim that he could assist with her menstrual problems
Police said it was then that Orellana is alleged to have twice sexually assaulted the woman.
The victim reported the incident in late February, prompting an investigation by the police department's sex crimes unit.
Orellana, of Antioch, was taken into custody at Las Americas Market on Nolensville Pike where he worked.
He is jailed Tuesday in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Detectives urge any other citizen who may have been sexually assaulted or inappropriately touched by Orellana under the guise of medical care to contact the sex crimes unit at 615-862-7540.
