A Mid-State man was taken into custody on Friday after breaking into his former place of employment and vandalizing company vehicles.
Police said Ryan Thompson broke into the Murfreesboro and Water and Sewage Department located in the 1700 block of South Church Street just after 7 a.m.
Responding officers determined the building and multiple vehicles had been burglarized and vandalized.
Among the items Thompson stole included $40 in coins, soft drinks and over-the-counter medications.
The stolen items were recovered in a bag under a nearby bridge.
Police said surveillance video captured Thompson in the acts.
He is charged with burglary, vandalism and theft over $100.
