Metro police are searching for a reckless driver who crashed into a tree Monday morning in downtown Nashville.
The incident started just before 1 a.m. when an officer spotted a car driving recklessly on 4th Avenue South near Broadway.
The officer decided not to pursue the vehicle to avoid creating a more dangerous situation.
Shortly after, police found the car crashed at 4th Avenue and Hart Street about 15 blocks away.
The driver was gone when police arrived on the scene.
A juvenile was found in the passenger seat and taken to an area hospital to be checked out.
The investigation is ongoing.
