A three-car pileup slowed westbound traffic on Interstate 24 at Harding Place Monday morning.
The wreck at mile marker 56 was reported around 6 a.m.
Police on the scene said a truck was rear-ended by another car as traffic slowed. Shortly after, the car was rear-ended by another vehicle.
Debris was spread across multiple lanes of the interstate and traffic was backed up for miles.
One of the drivers was sent to the hospital with a broken leg.
A school-aged boy was also transported to be checked out for possible injuries.
No other details were released.
The crash was cleared and I-24 West reopened about 90 minutes later.
