Williamson County sheriff's deputies are investigating following a violent armed robbery at a local convenience store over the weekend.
The crime, at Leticia's One Stop Market, on Lewisburg Pike in the Bethesda community of southern Williamson County happened Saturday night and it was all caught on surveillance video.
Fifty-six-year-old Howard Adkinson opened the market two-and-a-half years ago and named it after his 14-year-old daughter, Leticia.
He told Nashville's News 2 Investigates as he was preparing to close for the night, a masked man wearing gloves and armed with a .45-caliber semi automatic handgun entered and began shouting for him to “hand over the cash.”
After he opened the register, Adkinson said the gunman forced him to lie face down on the floor.
Store surveillance shows the masked gunman empty cash register drawer, cramming bills into his pockets.
“I want your money. I want your money. Give me your money or I will shoot you,” Adkinson recalled of what the robber kept repeating.
Adkinson continued, “He sounded [kind of] calm, [kind of] smooth, like he had probably done it before somewhere.”
While Adkinson was still on the floor, a customer entered and was immediately confronted by the suspect and robbed at gunpoint.
According to investigators, the bandit got into a car and quickly fled on Duplex Road toward Spring Hill.
Anyone with information on the man's identity is urged to call the Williamson County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at 615-794-4000.
