Metro detectives are working to identify the gunman who attempted to rob a south Nashville Kmart pharmacy late Monday morning.
Police said the gunman approached the pharmacy counter inside the Kmart store located at 2491 Murfreesboro Pike around 11:20 a.m.
He demanded oxycodone after showing the clerk he had a gun in his waistband.
When the clerk told him they do not carry that medication, he forced her out of the pharmacy area to the front of the store before driving away in a silver Pontiac G6 sedan.
No other passengers or suspects were seen.
The suspect is described as a very thin white man with long braided hair.
He appears to be in his 20s and is approximately five feet, eight inches tall with possible tattoos on both arms.
