A 41-year-old convicted felon is back behind bars after Franking police witnessed him not wearing his seatbelt and initiated a traffic stop.

Ronald Johnson, of Lewisburg, was pulled over in the area of Murfreesboro Road and Royal Oaks Boulevard Monday morning.

In his car, officers found more than $1,000 worth of merchandise recently stolen from three Franklin stores.

Officers recovered stolen merchandise ranging from knives to jewelry and clothing from Big Lots, Cracker Barrel, and Travel Centers of America.

Johnson was charged with felony theft and booked into the Williamson County jail.

Johnson posted a $10,000 bond and was to Marshall County where authorities wanted him on unrelated charges.

He is scheduled to appear in a Williamson County courtroom later this month.
