One person was injured after shots were fired at a Nashville native rap artist's SUV early Sunday morning.
The incident, involving musician David Brown, also known as “Young Buck,” and his girlfriend, occurred after an argument with others inside the La Bamba nightclub located in south Nashville.
According to police, multiple shots were fired at Brown's Cadillac Escalade from a white Chevrolet Tahoe on Interstate 24 near the Shelby Avenue exit around 3 a.m.
Brown's girlfriend, Kenyetta Rainey, 32, was treated and released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
According to his Facebook and Twitter pages, Brown held a cookout for fans along Ashland City Highway while shooting a music video Saturday afternoon.
He is a native of Nashville and gained notoriety as a member of 'G-Unit' led by rapper 50-Cent.
“Sometimes you can be at the wrong place at the wrong time or it might have been the person he was around,” said childhood friend Antoine Batey.
The investigation is ongoing and police had not immediately located the driver of the white Chevrolet Tahoe.
