CVS MinuteClinic and TriStar Health announced Friday they are joining forces in an effort to improve access to affordable healthcare by combining experience and resources.
Under the partnership, TriStar physicians will act as medical directors for the MinuteClinics.
The two health organizations will also be able to make referrals to each other and share patient information.
CVS MinuteClinic Operations Manager Mary Darden explained, “We will be sharing some electronic medical records, which is really going to make it very easy for us to communicate about patient care, and it's just going to make that continuity of care much better.”
In Middle Tennessee, the TriStar health system has 11 hospitals and 2,800 physicians. CVS MinuteClinic operates 14 clinics in the region.
No appointments are required at MinuteClinic and most health insurance is accepted.
Most clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
