Metro detectives have charged Tony Lorenzo Johnson with especially aggravated robbery in connection with last Sunday morning’s hold-up and shooting inside Watson Hall on the campus of Tennessee State University

Johnson, 21, of Antioch, was booked on the robbery count Friday morning.

Metro police assisted TSU police in the investigation.

At 4 a.m. last Sunday, an 18-year-old TSU student was in the fourth floor restroom of Watson Hall when he was approached by a gunman who demanded his belongings and forced him back to his dorm room.

During a struggle, the gunman shot the victim in the leg before taking a laptop computer and a gaming system.

The victim was treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and later released.

He met with detectives this week and identified Johnson from a photo lineup as the person who robbed and shot him.

Johnson was taken into custody by TSU police overnight Sunday in the vicinity of Watson Hall.

TSU police at the time charged Johnson with criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and several drug counts.

Johnson’s bond is set at $117,500.
