Drowning victim found in west Tenn. lake

UNION CITY, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities in west Tennessee have called off a search for a possible second drowning victim in Reelfoot Lake.

Obion County Sheriff Jerry Vastbinder told WBBJ-TV searchers found the body of a man from Mississippi County, Ark., shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday.  His name wasn't immediately released.

Vastbinder said the man's family told authorities the victim had been fishing alone on the lake in Tennessee's northwest corner, but there had been reports a second man was with him.

The victim had left Lake County on Thursday morning to go fishing.

No one else had been found when the search was called off about 9 p.m. Thursday.
