Sears Holdings Corporation, the parent company of Sears and Kmart, will close at least four Tennessee stores next year in an effort to reduce expenses after disappointing sales for big-ticket items this year.
The company's CEO announced on Tuesday they planned to close 100 to 120 Sears and Kmart stories nationwide to generate more than $140 million in cash as inventory is sold.
It was announced Thursday that the Sears store in the Hickory Hollow Mall in Antioch will close in addition to the Kmart store on East Main Street in Hendersonville.
Sears stores in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Cleveland, Tennessee will also close, in addition to 75 others announced Thursday.
Additional closings will be posted online at SearsMedia.com as they become available.
The number of employees impacted was not immediately known.
