A Metro police officer was fired Thursday afternoon following a disciplinary hearing in regard to his inappropriate touching of a restaurant waitress early last year.
Anthony Jackson was accused of pulling on the underwear of the waitress at a Hickory Hollow restaurant while off-duty in the early morning hours of February 22, 2010.
The victim and her employer reported the matter to police, resulting in investigations by the police department's office of professional accountability and sex crimes unit.
Deputy Chief of Police Todd Henry, who presided over Thursday's hearing, found Jackson's behavior to be totally unacceptable and dismissed him from the police department.
The 40-year-old Jackson was a 15-year veteran of the department.
His police authority was removed in February 2010 while the separate investigations were conducted.
He remained decommissioned until his termination Thursday.
