Several counties throughout the Mid-State are providing Christmas tree recycling centers to residents.
In Brentwood, trees can be dropped off beginning Monday from 6:30 a.m. until dusk at Crockett Park, Granny White Park and River Park through January 4.
Tree recycling centers will be located at Jim Warren Park, Liberty Park and Fieldstone Park from dawn until dusk through February 1 in Franklin.
Murfreesboro residents can also take their trees to the recycling area at Cannonsburgh Historic Village or to the Solid Waste mulching site through January 6.
In Smyrna, trees can be dropped off at Lee Victory Recreational Park.
“It is a great place. We have enjoyed the tree, so now it can be reused for the city to chop it up and use it for mulch,” said Sandra Davidson.
Jonathan Korleski of Franklin added, “We saw on the news this morning that you could drop trees off so we thought it was the best way to do it.”
Beginning on Tuesday, trees can be dropped off at 11 Davidson County locations, including Cane Ridge, Ewding Warner and Two Rivers parks.
Those recycling their trees are reminded to make sure all decorations including ornaments, lights and tinsel have been removed.
All of the trees taken to recycling centers will be turned into mulch.
