A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 65.
Police said Christopher Grove, 23, of Georgia, was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by a 2009 Honda Element.
The Honda was driven by Jeremy Webb, 27, of Clarksville.
Webb told police that Grove walked out in front of his vehicle.
There was no evidence Webb was impaired and charges are not expected to be filed against him.
The victim's 1996 Nissan Sentra was found along Interstate 24 near the scene of the accident.
Responding officers said Grove smelled of alcohol.
The ramp to Interstate 65 North at Interstate 24 West was closed until around 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
