A 25-year-old woman was arrested on DUI charges early Monday morning after police said she hit a pedestrian and fled the scene.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. at the intersection of 19th Avenue North and Division Street in Midtown Nashville.

Metro police booked the driver, Jasmyne Lyons, on charges of DUI, vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police said Lyons denied she had been drinking and said she did not hit a pedestrian.

Her blood alcohol level was 0.167%, more than double the legal limit.

Officers also recovered a large bottle of whiskey from her car.

A passenger in the vehicle was charged with disorderly conduct.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Baptist Hospital with a broken left leg, among other injures.

Both the victim and a witness identified Lyons' vehicle as the vehicle that struck the victim and fled the scene.
