Metro police arrested a woman shortly after she robbed a Nashville Rite Aid pharmacy on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the pharmacy located at 1241 Robinson Road.
According to police, the suspect, who has been identified as Denise Poteet, walked up to the pharmacist while brandishing a .22 Cal Ruger handgun asking for Oxycontin.
Authorities said the pharmacist complied with Poteet's request, while a pharmacy tech called police.
The woman was taken into custody by police as she was attempting to leave the store.
Police said she admitted to the robbery.
Responding officers recovered 172 Oxycontin pills which were valued at more than $1,100.
