The family of Ed Wisdom, Jr. and the group Partners in the Struggle have launched a hotline for anyone with information surrounding the murder of the 71-year-old man.
Wisdom Jr. was found shot to death on the front porch of his Moorewood Drive home late last month.
The Nashville resident was a retired employee of Tennessee State University where he worked as the Director of Management Information.
Though Metro police are continuing to investigate, Wisdom Jr.'s family is hoping the hotline will help speed up the investigation.
“I really wanted to provide them a means of getting that information to us so we could get that information to the investigators,” Ed Wisdom, III told Nashville's News 2, “That information has been flowing through the community, I've been hearing it from a bunch of different people folks calling me up so I just needed a way for them to be able to reach me quicker so I can get it to the investigators quicker.”
With no arrests made in the case, Wisdom Jr.'s son and wife are pleading with the community to help solve this murder.
“He was my rock, he was my anchor, he was my protector and to have him snatched away is the hard part. Had he been ill and his family was able to say goodbye that would have satisfied us. But to have someone to take him like that is devastating,” said Emma J. Wisdom.
Ed Wisdom III added, “My father was my hero, I never had to step outside of the household to find any other definition of what a true man is.”
The Ed Wisdom Jr. hotline number is 615-975-1879. Callers can remain anonymous.
The hotline launch coincides with the one month anniversary of Wisdom Jr.'s death.
