Body found at Center Hill Lake ID’d as missing canoer

Search crews recovered a man's body who was reported missing after his canoe capsized earlier this week at Center Hill Lake.

The body, which has been identified as Jerry Boyd was located around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials said Boyd's body was discovered in eight to 12 feet of water about 75 yards from a boat ramp at Rock Island State Park.

Boyd was canoeing with a friend when their boat capsized just before dark at the lake, about 85 miles east of Nashville on Monday.

The other boater safely made it to shore.
