CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville man was arrested Wednesday, a day after his 51st birthday, after he was found to be in the possession of several stolen GPS units and MP3 players.

Officers stopped a vehicle driven by Wayne Ashby for having broken taillights in the area of Highland Circle and Golf Club Lane.

Ashby had several warrants on file for his arrest and was taken into custody.

During a search of his vehicle, officers discovered several GPS units and MP3 players, among other electronics, along with drug paraphernalia and a crack rock.

Upon further investigation it was determined the electronics were linked to burglaries which occurred in the city and county.

Some of the owners of the property have been located and had their property returned.

Ashby was charged with three counts of theft of property and booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $15,500 bond.
