MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A woman is recovering after being hit by a vehicle driven by her sick husband outside her home earlier this week.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Nashville's News 2 that 26-year-old Ashley Neusse, of Jernigan Lane was hit by a vehicle driven by her 25-year-old husband Alex Neusse around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a crash report, Ashley Neusee had forgotten something inside the home as she, her husband and son were pulling out of the driveway.

Her husband, who was sick at the time, backed up the vehicle so she could get out.

Authorities say Alex then opened the door to vomit and his foot slipped off the brake pedal and he hit the accelerator instead.

The back of the vehicle then struck Ashley and the couple's garage, causing heavy damage to the exterior wall.

Ashley's condition was not immediately known.

Another vehicle inside the garage was also damaged by falling debris.

Authorities say no drugs or alcohol was involved in the accident.
