BAXTER, Tenn. – Fire destroyed a beloved restaurant late Wednesday night in Putnam County.

The blaze at the Beehive restaurant, located on Main Street in Baxter, broke out around 11 p.m.

The restaurant has been in business since 1975 and has always been a town favorite.

It recently reopened under new management in January.

The building appears to be a total loss.

Sandy's Hair Salon, located next door to the Beehive, also sustained damage in the fire.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
