NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro detectives on Tuesday charged a 32-year-old Nashville man with severely beating his girlfriend at the local bar where she worked.

Further investigation revealed her boyfriend, Leonel Ramos, was in the bar playing pool when he became angry at Cruz's intention to close the business early.
Witnesses reported that Ramos attacked Cruz by hitting, kicking and choking her. He then fled the scene.
Officers located Ramos Tuesday afternoon at a home on Ocala Drive.
Police said there were indications that he was preparing to flee the area.
Ramos was booked into the Metro jail on attempted murder charges. His bond was set at $500,000.
