CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville mother has been arrested after her eight-year-old son called 911 early Sunday morning reporting that he was home alone.
According to police, the child told 911 his mother had dropped him off at the residence and put in a movie for him to watch while she took someone home.
During their investigation police discovered the child had been in the care of a babysitter until around 2 a.m. when his mother, Kelly Lynn Walnoha, picked him and took him home where she left him to watch a movie.
The child was left alone for nearly an hour-and-a-half and told authorities that he had tried to call his mother on her cell phone.
Walnoha has been charged with child abuse, neglect or endangerment. She remains in jail on $5,000 bond.
The boy was turned over to DCS for placement.
