NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman is recovering after she was hit by a car after a fight broke out in the parking lot of a popular downtown Nashville nightclub early Monday morning.
The altercation broke out in the parking lot of Limelight located on Woodland Street around 2 a.m. as nearly 300 people were leaving the nightclub after a late night party.
According to witnesses, the woman was run over in the parking lot with the driver of the vehicle allegedly also hitting a parked car.
“She was hurt. Her face was bleeding and all that,” one witness said.
Police told Nashville's News 2 there have been several different versions of what took place leading up to the altercation and hit-and-run accident.
“There are conflicting stories by different witnesses as to exactly what happened, exactly why the person fled the parking lot, whether they were blocked in or attacked first,” Lt. Melvin Brown said.
The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe there were multiple fights in the nightclub's parking lot, all stemming from a single larger incident.
Another woman was struck with a bottle by someone on the sidewalk. Police believe the two incidents are related.
No charges have been filed.
