NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has announced the capture of a fugitive on its most-wanted list.

The agency said in a news release Monday that 54-year-old John B. Hale of Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., was caught without incident Saturday night while hitchhiking with truck drivers off Interstate 75 in Resaca, Ga.

Hale was wanted by the Dickson's County Sheriff's Office for aggravated sexual battery of a victim under 13 years old.

He pleaded guilty to the charge last August and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

He fled a few days before he was scheduled to report to prison Feb. 14.
