FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A fire Thursday night destroyed a 25-stall horse barn at the Brownland Farm horse show facility.

No animals were in the barn at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

Brownland Farm, located on Hillsboro Road just north of John Deere Landscapes, encompasses nearly 200 acres.

The blaze broke out just before 10 p.m.

Because there are no fire hydrants on the farm, crews had to shuttle water to the area.

Flames were visible from the Fieldstone Farms subdivision and Franklin's Emergency Communications Center was first notified of the fire by a Fieldstone Farms resident.

Franklin Fire Marshal Andy King said the building and contents, including four tractors, were a total loss and estimated the damage at $175,000.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
