NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Firefighters were called back to the scene of a house fire in south Nashville early Wednesday morning after it reignited.
The first fire started Tuesday evening on Darlene Drive.
Just after 1 a.m. Wednesday, the fire rekindled in the attic and flames shot through the roof.
The family that lived at the home became concerned about the security of the damaged home, so they called police.
“I came home and they thought someone had broken into their home, so they called police,” Susan Allen, a neighbor, told News 2, “and, when police came, they were looking at the house they saw the house catch on fire again.”
The fire department arrived on the scene quickly and got the fire under control.
The fire marshal will investigate to determine a cause.
Neighbors called the Red Cross to assist the impacted family.
