CHARLOTTE, Tenn. – The Dickson County Sheriff's Office has made two arrests in connection to a murder over the weekend in Charlotte.
Authorities said Ramirez Hernandez, 27, and Elisardo Lopez-Geranimo, 31, initially told deputies a story that ended up not being true.
Both are charged with filing a false police report.
Just after 4 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to reports of a fight at a home on Stayton Road.
Upon arrival, they found one man dead inside the home and a second person seriously wounded.
The injured man was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
A witness outside the home told authorities four black males who arrived at the home in a black SUV were responsible for the homicide and assault. The hospitalized victim told a similar story.
Detectives later determined their information to be false.
The sheriff's office said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
The name of the deceased victim or how he died was not immediately released.
Hernandez and Lopez-Geranimo were booked into the Dickson County jail on $100,000 bond.
They are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
