SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – Three people were transported to local hospitals following a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning that resulted in an SUV crashing into a motel.
The crash happened at about 8 a.m. at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Memorial Boulevard in Springfield.
Springfield police told the Robertson County Times it appeared that the white SUV was traveling north on Memorial Boulevard when it collided with a small red pickup truck that was attempting a left turn from the southbound turn lane.
The impact sent the SUV crashing into the Royal Inn. The truck spun around and ended up facing north on Memorial Boulevard.
The truck's two occupants were taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The driver of the SUV was taken to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
