NASHVILLE, Tenn. – One person suffered minor injuries late Friday morning after an ambulance ran off the road and crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 40 East in Nashville.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported the crash at the Interstate 24 split and just past the Fessler's Lane on ramp to I-40, at about 11:30 a.m. Friday.
The driver of the ambulance told police a passing tractor trailer ran him off the road.
Police said the driver of the tractor trailer did not pull over.
The passenger in the ambulance smacked his face on the windshield in the crash and sustained minor injuries.
The driver was not injured.
The ambulance was operated by First Call, a private ambulance company located in Nashville.
There was not a patient in the back of the ambulance at the time.
