FRANKILN, Tenn. – A Franklin 10-year-old’s selfless gift will help dozens of children get the support they need.

This past September, Georgia Blanchard asked her friends to give her gift cards instead of birthday presents.

By the time of her party, she had raised $275 worth of gift cards for the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee’s holiday gift card drive, but her giving didn’t end there.

Blanchard said, “My brother is autistic, and so we know how it feels like to be in these situations with no money for Christmas.”

Her family was struggling last year around the holidays and received gift card assistance from the gift card drive.

This year, the family is in a better financial situation and is now helping other families that are going through hard times.

When she and her mother learned through an email that 35 families and children were on a waiting list for gift cards this year, they donated a guitar, signed by Big Kenny of the country duo Big and Rich.

The guitar will be placed in an auction to benefit the ASMT holiday gift card drive.

The acoustic Fender TG-4 guitar with steel strings was custom made for Big and Rich.

The guitar is inlaid with the words “love everybody” across the back.

A Fender guitar case is included with the guitar.

To place a bid on the guitar, simply email your bid to guitar.auction@tnautism.org, or make a donation to ASMT by calling 615-385-2077.

The auction lasts until Tuesday, December 15.
