NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Safety has suspended a state trooper for two weeks for sending out an inappropriate email.
Trooper Brent Gobbell must also undergo diversity training as a result of his disciplinary action.
Gobbell’s suspension will be without pay.
An investigation revealed Gobbell received the email, and then forwarded it to 787 other state employees.
Gobbell, 51, said he intended to forward the email to himself and was not aware he had forwarded it to other state employees.
Gobbell is assigned to the Capitol Security Detail at the Supreme Court and was commissioned in 1983.
