NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The four persons accused of attacking a man outside the Mall at Green Hills appeared in a Nashville courtroom Wednesday.

Robert William Tice is alleged to have used a baseball bat to beat 62-year-old Robert DeMoss, Jr. in the March attack that occurred in the parking garage behind the Dillard's department store, off Abbott Martin Road.

He entered a plea of not guilty.

Three persons with Tice at the time of the alleged attack, Johnathan Lee Harris, Brittany Leanne Bannister and Catherine Mills, also appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty.

Another court date is set for September 2.

DeMoss was critically injured in the beating and spent several days in the hospital.

Police said the suspects went to the mall to break into parked cars.
