The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released video of a state trooper issuing a patrolman with the Mt. Carmel Police Department a speeding ticket.
Officer Ken Lunsford, shown in the black uniform, was clocked going 70 miles-per-hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone in Hawkins County.
“It's getting more in the county that police officers are driving quicker than everybody else and it don't make it acceptable,” the THP officer told Lunsford, who attempted to dispute the need for the ticket.
“I don't write everybody I stop a ticket and I just don't do it and I appreciate you giving me the same courtesy, I do,” he said.
Officer Lunsford, however, was given a ticket.
Mt. Carmel's police chief said he has no plans to contest the ticket and will pay his fine like everybody else.
