NASHVILLE, Tenn. – More than 30,000 people plan on crossing the finish line for the 9th Annual Country Music Marathon.

Officials say that's double the amount from 2004, and that 60% of the participants are from out of state.

Carla Yusufi and Jill Hansen are from Cleveland, Ohio. They are among those that are checking out the cities sites, the restaurants and shopping. The ladies made a little vacation out of the marathon weekend, by staying for five days in a hotel.

The last economic impact study revealed that the marathon generated more than $4-million for the city and that was in 2004.

This year they expect to exceed the $30-million mark.
