NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Establishments like Dan McGuinness on Demonbreun Street reported good crowds and Metro police reported few problems this St. Patrick's Day.
The Davidson County Sheriff's Department again offered sober rides home to party-goers.
This year, however, they only gave 605 free rides Monday night, down from more than 900 last year.
Rick Grady, Davidson County Sheriff's Department, said, “We always prepare for a large number so we had enough volunteers. We had over 100 people who came out and gave up their day and get people home safe. We were ready for whatever then numbers wore.”
St. Patrick's Day fell on a weekend in 2007.
